Recently our wonderful little neighbourhood has been a mess due to unruly behavior of inconsiderate people. About three weeks ago(3rd August 2013) a resident from our neighbourhood, Valley Street, Mrs Wee was shocked when she discovered that her car had been vandalized. Mrs Wee’s car had been splattered with red paint. Poor Mrs Wee was speechless when she saw her car that morning. It was her very first car that she had bought with her own money after saving up for years. Thankfully she was able to remove the paint marks from her car but the next victim was not as lucky.
Another one of our very dear neighbour’s
car was vandalized by an insensitive being, less than a week later(8th
August 2013) after the first incident,
on a day that was supposed to be joyous for Mr Haziq turned sour when he set
out to celebrate Hari Raya with his family and saw that his car had been
scratched terribly.
But none of this would compare to miss Kavitha who is not even a
resident of the neighbourhood, when she had set out to go home the next morning
after staying at a friend’s place she was shocked to see the state that her car
was in, the windows were smashed and paint had also been splattered on it. I think
we left a strong impression about the neighbourhood that was not for the better.

As citizens of this neighbourhood we have to look out for each other. Some suggestions from the citizens from the committee would include setting up of CCTV cameras around the carpark, this will enable us to look out for suspicious behavior, we should also have posters to stick onto the notice board and send out flyers to citizens of the estate to notify those who are not aware of the series of unfortunate events, this is necessary as citizens will have to look out for their own personal belongings, because before we look out for each other we must look for ourselves and anyone who has any information about the crook(s) should immediately call the police or inform the Head of the Zone.
